APPOINTMENTS

Walk-ins are welcome, however appointments are STRONGLY recommended. We are often out on location with our costumes, so it is best that customers make an appointment as our website will not be updated each time we are closed. Those with appointments will be fitted before walk-ins, please be aware wait times can be up to two hours if a large group comes in. We reserve the right to refuse service and require that renters trying on costumes arrive in a clean state.

CHILDREN

We carry a small selection of children's costumes, however children are NOT permitted in the costume area or change rooms unless they are being fitted for a costume. Children must be supervised at all times by an adult in the waiting room. Guardians are responsible for any damage that is caused. Renters 18 and under MUST be accompanied by an adult.

Please let us know in advance if you are looking for a child's costume as they are not all stored at our Brentwood location.

COSTUME RENTAL PRICES

Adult Rental fees range from $25-$100. Rental fees include cleaning cost, GST will be added. All costumes are tagged with the rental price and detail what accessories come with that particular costume. Any other accessories you wish to include are an ADDITIONAL fee.

Rental Rates:

• 1-4 days (regular rental fee)
• 7 days (regular rental fee plus half)
• 2 weeks (double regular rental fees)
• Additional days are $10 per costume
• Please inquire if longer rental times are needed

We accept Visa, MasterCard & cash. Please note we have little cash on site as most people pay & secure their deposit with a credit card.

MINIMUM RENTAL

There is a minimum $10 rental per person. No price adjustment will be made for "parts" of a costume not taken.

RESERVING A COSTUME

To RESERVE a costume the RENTAL FEE must be paid in FULL at the time of reservation. Off-season rentals are for 4 days at a time, Holiday/Seasonal 1 day. Renters must sign a legal agreement confirming they have read and agree to all of our policies.

Reservations can be made over the phone, however, we recommend renters try on the costume(s) first.. We REQUIRE an email verifying that renters have read & agree with all of our policies, and give Victoria Costumes written permission to charge their credit card.

CANCELLATION FEES

There will be a $20 cancellation fee PER costume, for reservations cancelled 3 weeks prior to the pick-up date. After that, no refunds will be given and a credit of 50% of your rental fee will be applied towards your next costume rental. Once costumes have left the premises, no refunds or credits will be given.

No credits or refunds will be given on cancellations of HOLIDAY theme costumes (due to weather, postponed events, etc...)

It is Victoria Costumes strict policy to clean all items, even if they are reported as 'not worn'. Whether costumes are used for 2 minutes or 2 weeks, all the work on our end remains the same - phone calls, emails, fittings, paperwork, POS, tiding up after fittings, returns, cleaning, mending, additional paperwork & re-stocking.

SWITCHING COSTUME FEE

There is a $10 switching costume fee PER costume once a reservation has been made, sorry no exceptions.

DAMAGE DEPOSIT

All rentals require a Damage Deposit. Deposits will amount to the FULL replacement value of each costume. Lost or damaged items will be charged accordingly before the Damage Deposit is returned. This value is determined by Victoria Costumes.

THE PICK UP PROCESS

• Please being your invoice
• Please allow approx. 5-10 minutes when picking up your costume(s).
• EXAMINE your costume & accessories for any rips, burns, faulty zippers, etc.
• REPORT any and all problems, concerns, etc. IN WRITING on your Rental Agreement.
• Damage Deposit is due at time of costume PICK UP (credit card preferred).

THE DROP OFF PROCESS

• Using your Rental Agreement as a reference, your costume & accessories will be examined. Charges will be made for discrepancies such as rips, burns, stains, broken zippers, etc... (see Rental Agreement for full details).
• Damage Deposit will be returned IN FULL if costume is returned ON TIME, with ALL accessories and in the CONDITION it was rented.

• Costumes can ONLY be returned DURING scheduled business hours. Please call ahead to confirm.

  Under no circumstances can costumes be left outside the store or with neighboring businesses. Renters will be responsible for damaged or stolen items.

LATE FEES

• An agreed upon return date will be determined when costumes are reserved.
• Off-season rentals are $10 PER costume PER day.
• Holiday/Seasonal & Halloween is the FULL rental amount PER day PER costume.
• 2009 Halloween: Return dates will be Monday Nov 2nd & Tuesday Nov 3rd during our business hours. Costumes returned after these dates are subject to late fees.

CHARITIES & FUNDRAISERS

Victoria Costumes is an avid supporter of local charities, fundraisers, non-profit agencies, etc. We would be happy to offer gift certificates for silent auctions & costume use for non-profit organizations. Verification required. $20 deposit is required on donations requiring promotional materials (plexi-glass sign, business cards & holder). $20 Deposit will be returned in full when all items have been returned. Victoria Costumes also offers discounts to schools, theatres, & performers which will be made on a case by case basis, please inquire for further information.

ADDITIONAL

• Costumes may not be dyed, painted, glued, cut or permanently altered without the written permission of Victoria Costumes.
• Persons failing to return rented merchandise may be charged with theft under applicable local laws. The renter agrees to pay any and all court and collection costs and attorney's fees associated with late or unreturned costumes or accessories.
• Victoria Costumes shall incur no liability to renter for accidents, injuries, or other losses caused directly or indirectly by use of any costume or accessory.
• Victoria Costumes reserves the right to deny rental of any costume.
